Relaxed, Intimate Wedding Photography at The Old Bridge Hotel, Huntingdon | Mark and Gaby | Cambridgeshire Documentary Wedding Photographer

I have visited The Old Bridge Hotel many times, but this was my first time I had photographed a wedding at this boutique hotel in Huntingdon. The attractive ivy-clad 18th century townhouse hotel has a beautiful outdoor garden by the river that makes a perfect wedding venue for a relaxed and intimate wedding. And that is exactly what Mark and Gaby wanted for their small wedding.

Gaby comes from Venezuela so hers and Mark’s wedding had an eclectic vibe that reflected Gaby’s home country and traditions. The father of the bride wore a traditional white garment to walk Gaby down the aisle, while Gaby’s tea-length wedding dress was from Phase Eight that she had purchased only weeks before the wedding from the high street. Her wedding bouquet and flowers were by Thelma Flowers in Godmanchester.

Mark and Gaby’s family and close friends, along with the couple’s baby daughter, watched the couple marry in a lovely civil ceremony held in the red dining room. The most touching moment took place when Gaby’s sister-in-law got up to give a reading to the couple in Spanish. There were a few tears shed as well as plenty of laughter too.

After the wedding ceremony, everyone moved downstairs to the private terrace bar of the Old Bridge hotel to relax and enjoy the riverside garden. Mark and Gaby did ask for some portraits with their family and as a couple, but they were mostly fun and informal portraits that would not look out of place in their wedding album with the rest of the photographs from their relaxed, intimate wedding.

With the attentive care of the hospitality team at the Old Bridge Hotel, the red dining room was transformed back to its formal and cozy dining space for the wedding breakfast. The groom’s mother and sister did the decorations on the table with carefully laid wedding favours and mini flags and labels that nodded to the couple’s place of origin.

Mark and Gaby are both such warm and genuine people. I loved getting to know them and capturing their beautiful day.

Here is what Mark and Gaby said about their wedding photos:

“Thanks so much for everything you did on our wedding day! Every picture was unique but when you look at them together is like living that magical day all over!”
