On a glorious summer’s day last year, I headed to the Cambridgeshire village of Swaffham Prior, where I had the privilege of capturing Briony and Adam’s wedding celebrations with their family and friends. It was a fantastic day and I loved shooting it. Briony and Adam were having a relaxed family wedding in the village and at their home. They wanted an informal approach of photography and seen and loved my documentary style of capturing the intimate and unposed moments, and most importantly, without directing or interfering in the moments. They have two young children and the vibe of the wedding was very family focused as there were also lots of VILP guests (very important little people!) as well as adults from their family and friends.

Their wedding ceremony was held at St Mary’s Church in the village, which was then followed with a village fête-style event with food stalls and games set up outside the village hall to keep guests of all ages entertained. Then it was time to walk the short distance to their home, where the wedding party could further relax and mingle on hay bales in the idyllic garden setting before they sat down for the banquet-style dinner. The lighting, gorgeous table arrangements and decorations were styled by wedding planner Georgina of Georgina Alexander Weddings. And the evening was rounded off with entertainment provided by the amazing rock n roll band, Kitty, Daisy and Lewis.
