An intimate registry wedding in Cambridge | Charlotte & Huw
As we come out of another national lockdown, there’s one thing I have learnt from this last month or even this whole year, and that is love and patience prevails. From couples who have selected to push their wedding day back so they could have their wedding day as they had planned, saved up and look forward to. To wedding couples who didn’t want to wait to say their vows and made the decision to scale back their wedding. I am sure their choices have not been without heartbreak, but also seeing them take a pragmatic approach has given me hope that weddings are not cancelled. We will definitely see weddings again next year, which with encouraging signs of a vaccine for Covid will see things gradually return more and more to normal.
Back in the summer, I photographed Huw and Charlotte’s wedding just as the first set of lockdown restrictions on weddings were being lifted. They had a small and intimate wedding ceremony in the Brooke Room in Cambridge registry office, which was wonderful even with the new Covid restrictions and rules in place. The bride’s sister and brother-in-law were in attendance to witness and everyone was beaming with smiles for the happy couple.
Huw and Charlotte will be celebrating their wedding reception with the rest of their family and friends at a Cambridge wedding venue next year, which I am looking forward to documenting. It would give them a complete story of their wedding with beautiful memories to share with their family and friends.
