Suffolk Barn Wedding Photography | Kath & James | Wedding Photographer in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk

Set in historic parkland just a couple of miles south of Bury St Edmunds and in the village of Hawstead, is Suffolk Barn, a beautiful rustic timber-clad barn with a fantastic outdoor area. It was the perfect venue for Kath and James’s laid-back summer wedding with its colourful, festival and bohemian vibe.

Suffolk Barn with its blank canvas is great for creating your own unique look for your wedding. Both Kath and James are a very creative couple and, with the help of their family, they turned the barn into a stunning setting full of colour with confetti balloons, paper decorations and lights. Kath had made the colourful backdrop for their ceremony and the flowers in their little jam jars along the table centres were grown and picked from the couple’s garden.

Kath got ready with her sister and maid of honour in a little cottage to the side of the barn. 

As the barn began to fill with guests, giving the place an uplifting, happy atmosphere, James saw to the details; blowing up balloons that looked a little limp with air. It was just in time before the bride entered and saw her groom, as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father.

The wedding took place on an extremely hot sunny day and it was at the end of one of the hottest summers on record! Luckily, the cool spacious barn inside provided some relief from the heat and its large doors opened straight out onto a lawned area where outdoor garden games were provided for the small kids and big grown-ups. 

The newly-weds and their guests feasted on delicious food from This Little Piggy Catering, whilst the cake and table of sweet treats were made by Kath’s clever sister and mother.

In the evening, the wedding party well and truly kicked off with live music from The Caverners entertaining the guests and getting everyone on the dancefloor.

James and Kath wanted a fun, relaxed wedding with natural candid photography capturing all the moments and emotions of their wedding day.
