The Reid Rooms barn wedding photography | Gill & Adam
Last August I travelled down to the Essex countryside to photograph Gill and Adam’s beautiful wedding at The Reid Rooms in Margaret Roding. The barn wedding venue, with its remote and rustic setting, gave a gorgeous backdrop for the couple’s relaxed, intimate wedding with their children and close family.
Their civil ceremony was held in one of the timber-clad, old converted stables decorated with fairy lights. The afternoon had started off sunny, but as the ceremony ended and the couple walked out into the courtyard it began to rain. Thankfully, it was only a light shower and the venue coordinator was quick to be on hand with the umbrellas. The children were even able to play with the traditional garden games laid out on the lawn.
Gill wore a stunning blush pink floral wedding dress by Needle and Thread, while Adam’s suit attire was from Ted Baker and TM Lewin. Both the children’s outfits were from Next that complemented perfectly with their parents.
The Reid Rooms were located within the grounds of a working farm. So after the ceremony and celebratory drinks, everyone walked back to the farmhouse, where the couple and guests were staying and had got ready before the ceremony, to have some pictures taken. Although I do like to keep posing to a minimum and my style is mostly uncontrived and unstaged, I do make a small amount of posed portraits during the wedding. These were taken in the open fields against the rustic features of the farm buildings.
I’d like to thank Gill and Adam for inviting me to be a part of their wedding day and am so thrilled that they loved their photographs afterward.
Some kind words from the couple and some of my favourites from their wedding photos below:
“Thank you so much for our wedding photos. We love them and so does everyone else! We’re really pleased you captured the happiness that our family shared and all the wonderful memories we have of our day. You did a fabulous job!”
