Fun, relaxed family photoshoot on the Norfolk beach at Winterton-on-sea | Documentary Family Photography in Norwich and East Norfolk
I had an awesome fun time hanging out with Charlotte and her family at their family home in Norwich. I was due to do a photoshoot for them back in spring, but after sickness, then Covid hit, we postponed until I was allowed to visit. This turned out better than we had originally planned because the summer heatwave had well and truly ended when the weekend was over.
Day-in-the-life family photoshoot in Norwich
While I was there, I captured their family life at home. I don’t always have to stay over when I photograph a day-in-the-life family photoshoot, but it’s nice to get to stay until, at least when the kids go to bed because it’s such a lovely time when you have little ones that you could be reading bedtime stories with. Having this precious memory captured will let them see their early childhood of sharing this time in the evening with you.

The weather was nice, so Charlotte planned for a day out at Winterton beach, which is located on the east coast of Norfolk. It was very windy when we got there and there were big waves crashing onto the beach. Luckily, this did not put them off and her oldest even embraced playing by the waves. I loved her beaming smile as she walked out after getting soaked from one of the waves. I candidly photographed the family as they made sandcastles on the beach and the younger two children playing in the sand dunes. Their dog joining in at various times to help with the digging or running to meet other dogs and dog walkers.
We left the beach to grab some fish and chips followed by ice cream back in Norwich.
It was a super day getting time to spend with Charlotte and her wonderful family and a treat to be able to create some real family photos of this moment in time for them. With her permission, I’ve shared some photos below. Thank you, Charlotte.
